A huge thank you to Karamea Four Square who let us extend the exhibition to include Thursday and Friday of the week following the exhibition.
Storms, flooding, road closures and Covid considerations couldn't stop the 2022 Karamea Art & Craft exhibition. 56 artists entered works with over 200 individual items on display. There have been over 450 people through the exhibition, and that's not not even counting all the school children and those attending the music events throughout the weekend. They were all spread out over the weekend and the additional two days, which made managing the Covid maximum venue numbers easy.
The exhibition garnered incredible support from artists, the community, sponsors, and the support entertainment acts that all contributed their skills for free in support of the whole event.
Previous organising teams built a fantastic event from which we could build on. The event schedule this year saw new support acts including a popular fundraising Flax auction (thanks to auctioneer extraordinaire Willie Sage) which was an exciiting addition.
This year artists had an incredible haul of prizes including certificates, trophies and prize money. Thank you to the businesses below who made these awards particularly attractive.
Please note, these photos were snapped suring the exhibition and don't do the art works justice.

Those who came along despite inclement weather to soak up the buzzing atmosphere on Sunday afternoon when a large lineup of entertainers played at the RSA.
To the support acts who came out in force to help make the event an even larger celebration of the arts, thank you! Giving up your time, skills and energy is hugely valued by the exhibitors in helping to attract attendees.
The absolutely adorable School band The Kool Meerkats, the Tarango Family, Karamea Shamrocks irish dancers, the Endorphins (Karamea singing group), the Women’s Electronic Music Group, Flaxxers group, Jimmy and The Sky Dogs and the local musicians who joined in - it was thrilling to see and hear so much talent in one weekend.

Yes, local artists. Of…
Yes, local artists. Of course not everybody here is an artist! But we do have lot of talented people in our little town and surrounds :)
Do I understand correctly…
Do I understand correctly that this is an exhibition of local artists? It's just that I'm not local (from Sydney) and I'm impressed by the presence of 56 artists.
https://karamea.nz/web/index.php/directory/karamea_community_arts_council/ - it seems to say there's a whole community in Karamea, I'm just clarifying.
