A huge thank you to Karamea Four Square who let us extend the exhibition to include Thursday and Friday of the week following the exhibition.
Storms, flooding, road closures and Covid considerations couldn't stop the 2022 Karamea Art & Craft exhibition. 56 artists entered works with over 200 individual items on display. There have been over 450 people through the exhibition, and that's not not even counting all the school children and those attending the music events throughout the weekend. They were all spread out over the weekend and the additional two days, which made managing the Covid maximum venue numbers easy.
The exhibition garnered incredible support from artists, the community, sponsors, and the support entertainment acts that all contributed their skills for free in support of the whole event.
Previous organising teams built a fantastic event from which we could build on. The event schedule this year saw new support acts including a popular fundraising Flax auction (thanks to auctioneer extraordinaire Willie Sage) which was an exciiting addition.
This year artists had an incredible haul of prizes including certificates, trophies and prize money. Thank you to the businesses below who made these awards particularly attractive.
Please note, these photos were snapped suring the exhibition and don't do the art works justice.
