Karamea Pop-Up Gallery Matariki/Pleiades
A big thank you goes out to our community for supporting the Karamea Pop-Up Gallery Matariki /Pleiades exhibition on July 15th -16th. Once again the volunteers and community turned up at the old Hardware Store to make this a fun-filled weekend, showcasing our local artists and performers. While the weather was a bit inclement, the atmosphere was anything but!
We had 255 visitors to the exhibition over the two days, with many from out of the district. 33 artists displayed their work and 3 local buskers delighted the visitors with their musical talent. 44 pieces of artwork were sold and many happy smiles were shared. One of the core reasons for running the Pop-up Gallery is to showcase Karamea's talents, inspire each other artistically, and encourage community creativity. A thriving art scene is a sign of a healthy community.
A HUGE thank you is extended to Jason & Juliette from 4-Square for their ongoing support and generosity in providing the venue and keeping us warm. Thank you also to the volunteers who helped set up and those who helped on the day to keep things running smoothly. A special thank you to Raramai for her sounds on both days, again this brought many smiles and plenty of good vibes. Finally, a thank you to Jessie and Liz, whose guidance ensured that Sanae’s absence was not felt too much.
We truly have a wonderfully creative community to be proud of. The next Pop-Up gallery is September 16th-17th, theme NEON.
Regards
