This project is being run by a Buller-based trust called KNECT (Kawatiri Nature Environment and Communities Trust). KNECT is local and is running this from a belief that we need a strong local food system to be resilient to disasters, to have thriving businesses and a healthy community. This research will create a comprehensive picture of the reality of our food system now, and the challenges and opportunities in the future. From this we'll build clear, sensible proposals for investment and funding.
