The Karamea Pop-up Gallery’s January exhibition, “Summer Pop,” held on January 18 and 19, 2025, celebrated the vibrant talents of the local community with a stunning display of art and creativity.
The exhibition featured a diverse array of artworks, including paintings, quilt, wool works, drawing, designed gourds, copper works, woodcrafts, diamond art, photography, and musical performances. Once again, visitors were full of praise for the exceptional quality of the pieces on display.
The Karamea Pop-up Gallery team is dedicated to providing a platform for artists to showcase their talents, inspiring others to embrace creativity, and offering an opportunity to sell their artwork and crafts. It’s heartening to see the exhibition recognised as a fantastic outlet for artistic expression and an opportunity to showcase the rich creative spirit of local artists to the community.
This success of the show would not have been possible without the support of the dedicated members of our community. To all the volunteers—Sonoe Ohizumi, Nova Scarlett, Liana Stupples, Caleb Bloxham, Ange Cronin, Jacqui Dyer, Cathleen Heslan, Jill Durn, Diva Murray, and Paul Murray—we extend our heartfelt thanks for your time, effort, and contributions throughout the weekend.
A special thank-you goes to Jason and Juliette James from the Four Square supermarket for their generous and continued support in providing the venue. We also acknowledge the unwavering dedication of the Karamea Pop-up leadership team—Jessie Creedmore, Cathy Sampson, Liz Kerslake, and Bridie Young—for their contributions in making the exhibition a resounding success.
Thank you to everyone who attended to support Karamea’s artistic community and to those who purchased artworks. Over the course of the weekend, the exhibition welcomed 194 visitors, and 26 artworks found new homes. We’re thrilled to have hosted another successful event!
A special mention goes to our local musical talents—Clayton Marr, Lear Ivatt and Michele Sandford, and the Young family—for their magnificent performances. To all the artists, thank you for your continued dedication to creating and sharing your art with our wonderful community.
