A quick update from Jessie - and a recommendation
Hi Community! As most of you will know I have vacated the Karamea Community Coordinator role. I did an additional 6 months to the 12 months I committed - there's that much exciting stuff you can get your teeth into! I'm certainly still a community member though, and love Karamea for the special place it is. I care about it, loved the work I did in the Coordinator role and all the awesome people I met and worked with during my time in the role. It's now someone else's turn to pick up the baton. It's a truly great opportunity to get involved and contribute meaningfully, so I strongly recommend that anyone interested should make contact with KCI for a Job Description - available from the Karamea Information Centre in person, by phone 037826652 or by email info@karameainfo.co.nz.
Project list that came out of the community planning feedback:
I was asked at the recent business group catch up (you can join the business group by emailing businessgrouplwk@gmail.com), and also asked by a few individuals, where they could find the list of projects and ideas from the Karamea Community Plan consultation feedback process, from both online survey and the big community workshop. The full list has been available ever since the release of the full plan consultation document, which is in the Karamea.nz website and at the Info Centre.
As KCI have pointed out, this list belongs to you - the community. It's your suggested ideas and projects, ready for community groups/individuals to pick up and run with or lobby for. The new community coordinator will be a resource for assistance in this regard too.
There’s also a draft shortlist that has been grouped into topic areas for convenience.
You’ll find a link to it at the top of the list below.
It's a combination of community shortlisting and the Community Coordinator grouping projects and suggestions into common topic themes and projects - aligned to the overall desired community outcomes in the Plan.
