Conservation Volunteers New Zealand [CVNZ} is working with DOC and Stuff to extend the Wasp Wipeout programme into the West Coast and Canterbury. DOC have identified a number of priority sites which incude the western end of the Heaphy, and lots of the Oparara walks. [See full list below]. The baiting itself is relatively straightforward , but the timing is critical to ensure that there are enough wasps feeding on protein. [The bait is protein based , low toxicity and collected again after 3-5 days]. If anyone is keen to help, then please contact me using the response form -I'm also more than happy to answer any questions you may have. [I will provide more info once I hear back from folk].
List of sites-NOTE - we will be doing well if we can do 50% of these!
