The Karamea Events Trust
Pulse Energy Oparara Wilderness Trail Run

It is that time of the year when again we contact our many volunteers who support our local event to ask if they will give their time to help make the day run seamlessly. If you have already been approached, thank you for your selflessness and your sense of community. Others will be contacted soon as part of the "annual round up".
If you would like to become a member of the volunteer army, as part of a sub-committee or to help with setting up the domain a couple of days prior to the event and to help pack up after it or even to volunteer on the day, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your efforts are very much appreciated by The Karamea Events Trust and the competitors, who from their participation in many races are only too well aware that events just do not happen without the enormous commitment of the volunteer force.

Some of the comments we had from the competitors and their support crew after our two previous events were about the wonderful community spirit they experienced and how friendly the people are here. So, it isn't just the race that attracts people to Karamea, it's the whole package which includes good old West Coast hospitality and it's that whole experience that makes people want to come back to Karamea year after year to do our race and enjoy what the Karamea area has to offer.

If you are new to Karamea and would like to be involved, some background to the event may be helpful to you.
The Karamea Events Trust was set up to promote, organise and conduct the Pulse Energy Oparara Wilderness Trail Run. It was an initiative to increase awareness of the region and to increase revenue flow, both locally and throughout the northern Buller area.
The Karamea Events Trust functions as a charitable entity with surplus profits being vested back into the community and with Trustee's who derive no financial benefit for themselves from the commitment they make.
The Pulse Energy Oparara Wilderness Trail Run is Karamea's biggest public event which will be held for the third time on Saturday 27th April 2019.

For more information you can check out our Facebook page and visit our website at or if you would like to add your name to the list of volunteers, please contact Lynda Pope on 782 6773.
