What is a pump track and is it a good idea for our area?

Following the Karamea/Little Wanganui community Hui this month, a group of us have got together to discuss the feasibility of setting up a bike pump track in the area.

A pump track is a continuous loop of dirt berms and “rollers” (smooth dirt mounds) that you ride without pedalling. The name “pump track” comes from the pumping motion used by the rider's upper and lower body as they ride around the track. ... The beauty of Pump tracks is that they can be ridden by cyclists of all ages and skill levels. (if you can ride a bike, you can ride a pump track!)

We believe it would be an opportunity to provide a fun social activity in the area for both adults and children.

Please click the link below to see images and find out more about pump tracks.

We ask that you give the time to fill out a short 4 question survey.

The objective of the survey is to find out how interested the community would be in the construction of our very own pump track.
