Karamea and its surrounds are such vibrant colourful diverse communities - we are inviting all of you to join us in spreading some artistic glimmer and to celebrate our creativity.

NO LIMITATION ON SIZE OR MATERIAL - the only criteria is that the art needs to be your original work
This event is being organised and run by the Monday Night Art Group with the welcome assistance of others in the community and a financial grant from the Karamea Arts Council - our thanks to everyone for their support - we would love to hear from anyone who could assist us with their time, energy and enthusiasm over the week of the exhibition.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPH COMPETITION
LIKE TO SEE MORE OF THE PHOTOS - on opening night OF THE COMMUNITY ART EXHIBITION, Thursday 1st April, at the Last Resort, photographs from the Digital Photography Competition will be available on computer for the community to vote for the “most popluar” photograph.
DURING THE EVENING PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE SECTION WINNERS .

ARE YOU ABLE TO DONATE TIME TO SUPERVISING THE COMMUNITY ART EXHIBITION (there will always be two people on so please don‘t be concerned) EVEN AN HOUR TO ALLOW THE ORGANISERS TO HAVE A COMFORT STOP WOULD BE GREAT - please ring Anne 006 ( answerphone) - come & get involved and have some fun.

Exhibition only or price your work for sale
Entries need to be delivered, exhibition ready, by 10am on Thursday 1st April. The organisers would love to know that you are going to exhibit, especially if your work requires specific lighting or mounting to show it off to its best advantage - please contact and speak to Anne on 7826-006 or Kaia on 7826-909 or leave a message.
Opening night 7pm Thursday 1st April - short welcome and then the opportunity to look around at the diverse collection of work to the background music of Stu's records
FREE entry with drinks and nibbles available for purchase.
We would ask that you get your FREE ticket from the Karamea Hardware - one for each adult and teenager attending - you will be very welcome with or without a ticket - we are just trying to gauge numbers to assist us with catering.
The exhibition will be open daily from Friday 2nd April 10am to 4pm through to the Wednesday 7th April.
During this time various groups and individuals in the community will share their work - also the opportunity for adults and children accompanied by adults to take part in art events under the covered verandah - including chalk pavement drawing, beadwork, wire, paper mache, air dry clay, enviromental knitting - help us to knit a cover for a bicycle (contribute as little or as much as you want - wool and needles provided), crayons, face painting etc.
Two workshops for older students will be held at Anne's house - recycled art and stencil art - see Chronicle for details.
A closing party will be held at 6pm on Wednesday 7th April to celebrate our week of art and creativity - music, fun and food (bring your own tea.)
Collect your exhibits or money before 8pm on the 7th, before 10am on Thursday 8th or by arrangement with the organisers.
